The Basketball Interview with Chase Altenburg
Six-foot-3 guard Chase Altenburg is very excited to help Harrisburg to a big 17-18 season. Chase talked with PHD today about basketball.
At your school, what is your favorite part or parts about game days in terms of the routine leading up to the game?
CA: I love spending time with my teammates wether that is listening to music in the locker room or the long bus rides we take.
What makes your crowd unique? What is a memorable thing that they’ve done that you will always remember?
CA: Our student section is crazy they are always loud and come to support us. The game at Sioux Falls Lincoln last year for the district championship they filled the stands and were louder than Lincoln’s fans.
Who is the toughest player that you have faced in your career?
CA: Matt Cartwright was the best player I have ever played against. His ability to shoot the three and get to the rim made him very hard to guard.
Who is your biggest rival and what about them makes the rivalry both heated and memorable?
CA: Yankton has to be our biggest rival. Every game against Yankton is a close one that comes down to the wire.
Who is your favorite basketball player in the world and why?
CA: My Favorite basketball player is Devin Booker.
All basketball players love gear. What brand of gear or type of gear are you partial to?
CA: I love Nike and Jordan gear.
What is your favorite venue to play basketball in that you’ve played in?
CA: The Barnett Center in Aberdeen SD, at the State B Tournament my sophomore year in DeSmet was one of the greatest basketball environments I have ever played in.
What was the best advice you’ve received from a coach?
CA: My head coach Scott Langerock told me to not worry about making mistakes and just play as hard as I can and shoot the ball.
Who is your basketball influence?
CA: My parents have had the strongest influence on me and they always have taught me to work and always get in the gym and work on my game.

CA: I am a Phoenix Suns fan.
