Best Available 2018s: Guards
This five-part series will highlight the best available prospects in Ohio’s 2018 class. We will go position by position, in order for college coaches and scouts to use these articles as a resource heading into the winter months.
These lists start with the top available prospect and go in order from there. Come back each day for a new list!
Taevion Kinsey, 6’4”, Eastmoor Academy/OH-NOVA (Tillman)
The most explosive athlete on this list is a competitor. He’s narrowed down his list of potential suitors to UT Martin, James Madison, and Marshall.
Houston King, 6’4”, Toledo St. John’s/C2K Elite
King scores the ball at all three levels and should win a ton of games as a senior with St. John’s. King has received offers from Georgetown, Kent State, Central Michigan, and Bethune-Cookman.
Reiko Bagley, 6’6”, Marion=Franklin/Elite Basketball Club
Bagely is spending his first season in the Buckeye State after coming over from Illinois. He currently doesn’t have any offers but that could change soon, pending his ACT score.
Dominic “DJ” Brewton, 6’3”, Cincinnati Hughes/Team One Phenoms
Brewton transferred from Mount Healthy over to Hughes for his senior season. He currently holds one offer from Henderson State right now.
Collen Gurley, 6’2”, Archbishop Hoban/TNBA OH
Gurley, a major shooting threat, holds an offer West Virginia State.
Darweshi Hunter, 6’4”, Cincinnati Princeton/VCC Ohio Warriors Pro Bound
Hunter is a three-level scorer who should put up big numbers on one of the top teams in Cincy this year. He holds offers from Lincoln (PA), Purdue Northwest, Assumption, and LIU Post.
Delshawn Jackson, 6’1”, Cleveland Central Catholic/TNBA East
Jackson plays extremely hard and does a lot of the small things, including helpside defense and making good cuts. He holds an offer from West Virginia State.
Datrey Long, 6’4”, Beechcroft/All Ohio Black
Long is a two-sport athlete in football and basketball that would love to find a place to play both in college. He doesn’t have an offer at the moment.
