Florida Top 250 Expo Report: Sebastian Kinney
The underclassmen played with a chip on their shoulder, with something to prove, and nobody fits that mold more than Sebastian Kinney. Sebastian played tough defense, team basketball, and made plays on the offensive end.
I caught up with Kinney to talk about his time at the expo and upcoming season.
Q: What was your experience like in Daytona at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo?
A: It was a good experience for me and there was a lot of good players to play against, we played against every team so we could see how we were compared to everyone else and i would definitely come back next year.
Q: Where did you first hear about it?
A: My friend told me he was coming, and I looked it up on twitter and decided to come.
Q: What was the best thing you learned?
A: The best thing I learned was playing with other players I’ve never met before, and learn from everyone, and to play defense on the ball as much as possible.
Q: What positive in your game grew? What negative in your game did you notice and try to fix?
A: A positive about my game was attacking the left side of the floor, driving the gaps and kicking to all my shooters, a negative was not taking enough midrange shots but I did well attacking the basket.
Q: Would you recommend the expo to your peers? How come?
A: I would say it is a good camp because you play alot of games, there are a lot of people watching, and I would recommend players to come next year.
Q: What is your role looking like this season?
A: My role this year at ICS is going to be great, I’m starting at shooting guard for varsity and we have a good team, and our goal is to win at least 20+ games this year.
Kinney was attacking the basket left and right during the expo, something that as the starting 2 guard for his high school, will help him put up a lot of points.
