Recruiting Report: Bailey Verk (2019)
Six-foot-5 forward Bailey Verk, a junior from ThunderRidge, is starting to hear from several college programs after a strong year with Colorado Chaos.
“I only really got to play during the spring time because I tore my meniscus but it gave me 2 months to get faster stronger and work on what I needed to,” Verk said.
Verk was a role player as a junior for ThunderRidge who went 24-3. About five points and five boards a night. Now Verk is getting ready to step into a bigger role.
“Really working on my skill level as well as my range of shooting,” Bailey said.
“Athletically my speed and vertical (are things being worked on), really anything I can to be an all around player that will help my team out.”
Can ThunderRidge have similar success as last year?
“We are pretty optimistic and anxious about the season,” Verk stated. “We think it will be a good season with the talent we are going to have this year. The goal is always to win a championship.”
College coaches have Verk’s information and they have been in regular contact.
“I have heard from schools like Air Force, College of the Holy Cross, Sioux Falls, Concordia, and I haven’t planned any visits yet with schools.”
The Verk family has been a key piece for ThunderRidge and of course has been an influence on Bailey.
“My brother influenced the way I play and how hard I work a lot,” Verk said. “My favorite player is probably Kobe and Shaq.”
