2020 Player Rankings: Baltimore Prospects Part Two
2020 Player Rankings: Baltimore Prospects Part One
Tyler Brelsford | 6’1 | Mt. St. Joseph/Team Melo
Previous Ranking: 18
New Ranking: 21
Brelsford had plenty of chances to polish his skills this summer running the show for Team Melo 15U. Not only did he grow his game, he grew an inch or two in height as well. The 6’1 point guard can be a lethal outside shooter as well as a good finisher around the rim. Defensively he has active hands and uses his length to contest opposition’s shot. This year for the Gaels, Brelsford is going to have to fight for every minute on the floor considering how deep their guard rotation is. Going up against guys like James Bishop, Tyree Myers and Kendall McMillian every day in practice is going to get him significantly better. A few Division I programs have shown interest in Brelsford, but none have offered.
Cameron Byers | 6’6 | John Carroll/Team BBC
Previous Ranking: 21
New Ranking: 29
Byers made the switch from Team Thrill to Team BBC during the course of the summer. The versatile 6’6 forward is a physical presence inside on both ends, which assists him in becoming a great rebounder. This season for the Patriots, Byers looks to be the beneficiary from stellar guard play thanks to the likes of Immanuel Quickley, Montez Mathis and Nigel Haughton. If he can play his role, he’ll be a key ingredient to the Patriots hoisting the MIAA and BCL titles this season. Byers holds an offer from Hampton.
Curtis Jacobs | 6’2 | McDonogh/Maryland 3D
Previous Ranking: Unranked
New Ranking: 37
Jacobs is a physical, tough and shifty guard that continues to sharpen his overall skill to make him into a featured player for the Eagles. Alongside shooting guard Noah Locke this season, Jacobs will see plenty of shot opportunities come his way. The coaching staff at McDonogh is high on Jacobs and his development, now he’ll have to prove it as he gets his second opportunity in the MIAA and BCL.

Andrew Mills | 6’4 | New Town/Team BBC
Previous Ranking: Unranked
New Ranking: 38
Mills is a long, skilled wing that will play a crucial role for New Town this season. Although he still has a ways to go in terms of polishing his entire game, Mills has one of the smoothest shooting strokes in the county. He fills the stretch forward role and will continue to do so this season as New Town looks to insert themselves in the standings at the top with teams like Perry Hall, Woodlawn, Milford Mill and Dulaney.
Jermaine Goodwyn | 6’2 | Milford Mill
Previous Ranking: Unranked
New Ranking: 40
Goodwyn is a fun player to watch. The 6’2 guard is extremely shifty and can finish with craft around the rim. The lefty has a smooth shooting stroke and can get into his shot very quickly off the dribble. This year for the Millers, Goodwyn will be counted on to do a little bit of everything. Fortunately, the Millers are deep at the guard spot, but Goodwyn is too skilled not to have on the floor. He and senior transfer Jordan Goodwin should be one of the top backcourt duos in the area.
