Recruiting Report: Dayne Prim (2019)
Six-foot-3, 160 pound junior Dayne Prim played a versatile supporting role for Grandview as a sophomore and now he’s a junior ready to take a big step.
“The top highlights of my career were playing with my big brother and all the seniors on the team last year,” Prim said.
“Being with them so much it creates a bond, those are my brothers and I was just thankful to play every game by there side.
“I feel like I improved a lot I felt like I’ve overcome a lot of things during the year and it just made me a better person rather then player but there’s always more room to improve.”
Now that so many key players have moved on, what is Dayne’s plan for moving the program into the future?
“My focus is being a leader, getting my attitude right and becoming an all around better basketball player and learning and also teaching,” Prim said.
“I feel like we should be able to accomplish a lot, more then last year in my opinion.
“People don’t expect us to be good this year cause you can’t replace Gaige Prim or a Lechaun Duhart but I’m very confident in my team this year we are going to surprise a lot of people.”
Schools have started to contact Dayne about the D1 level.
“I’m hearing from University of Northern Colorado, Saint Mary’s University, Air Force, and some other division twos. I haven’t gone on any visits but any school is fine for me.”
What players at the next level have Prim’s attention?
“My brother has influenced my game a lot. My favorite hoopers are Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Kuzma, and obviously Lebron.”’
Prim have his team seven points, six boards, a steal, and a couple assists a game as a junior and more is expected this winter. So what is the goal?
“Win a state championship!”
