Recruiting Report: Xavier Johnson (2018)
Six-foot-2 guard Xavier Johnson have Rocky Mountain 14/5/3 last year but is now at Rampart ready for his senior year.
“Now that I am at Rampart high school, we have Dawson Carper and Josh Kavalec coming back and a solid bench,” said Johnson. “I have high expectations that we will make is deep into the playoffs.”
Johnson wants to become a better shooter before his senior season begins.
“My number one focus is my outside and midrange jumper,” Xavier said. “Also my goal is to improve my vertical and to improve my lateral quickness.”
Xavier played with the Colorado Chaos this summer and he improved his jumper and made some friends along the way.
“My 17u season was great,” Xavier said. “My highlights have to be the friendship I made during the season! I feel my confidence in my outside shot was my greatest improvement to my game.”
Xavier is waiting for his college recruitment to take a step forward.
“I haven’t heard from very many colleges but I have talked with metro and I would like to visit there. But I have not been on and visits yet.”
A current pro from Colorado State is who Johnson looks up to.
“Gian Clavell, a former CSU player, I met him after a CSU game once, and after that I have always looked up to his mentality and the way he approached the game,” Johnson explained.
“My favorite hoopers would be Derrick Rose and LeBron.”
It’s big year for Xavier who has big goals for his new squad.
“My goals are to help lead Rampart to CSML championship and get deep into the playoffs.”
