Prospect Spotlight: Cooper Peterson (2019)
Cooper Peterson is a 6’3 Guard from Edmond North High School. Peterson played for a couple of teams this summer in grassroots’ play. He played for PWP and Team Griffin.
Peterson is a great shooter with good range. He is a good dribbler which complements his high basketball IQ.
Before the upcoming season, Peterson would like to become a better defender. He wants to work on seeing the court better which will help him protect the ball more effectively. He also wants to work on becoming a better rebounder.
Peterson’s favorite NBA player is a blast from the past. His favorite is Pete Maravich, otherwise know as Pistol Pete, because of his flashy play style.
After high school, Peterson would like to go to a college that has good academics. He would like to major in business while in school. He currently has a 3.0 GPA and will be taking the ACT in December.
“I want to go somewhere that has good facilities and coaches,” said Peterson. “I want the ability to make some good relationships.”
Peterson’s favorite memory from high school was winning the Class 6A title last year with the Huskies. Edmond North was crowned the champions after defeating Booker T. Washington in the finals.
He will look to follow that season up with another run at the state title this year. Academically this year Peterson would like to maintain a 3.5 GPA.
Peterson is currently ranked no.32 in the 2019 class of Oklahoma.
Cooper Peterson is a good size guard that will look to play a part in defending the state title for Edmond North. With his shooting ability, he will be able to stretch teams to help out the Huskies.
