Here is the weekly rundown of recruiting news around North Carolina.
Steere Commits to Wolfpack
NC State received a commitment from one of the top big men in the state, Ian Steere made the pledge for The Wolfpack on Friday morning. He will join Northwood Temple (Fayetteville) big man Immanuel Bates as future NC State big men. Steere, ranked 11th in the latest PrepHoopNC’s top 2018 had committed to Creighton over the summer but de-committed about two weeks ago before picking NC State. He is a skilled big man who can run the floor and finish in traffic. The Wolfpack were desperately in need on big men for the 2018 class with Abdul Malik-Abu, Leonard Freeman and Tucker Thompson set to graduate after this season.
Daivien Williamson Down to Four
Winston-Salem Prep senior guard Daivien Williamson has narrowed his list to four. The strong scoring guard is down to ETSU, Wofford, Drexel and James Madison. He is on an unofficial visit to East Tennessee this weekend and will announce his decision at some point next week.

Stanford, Harvard and Yale have reached about 6’10” Justice Ajogbor from the 2020 class out of Christ School. He is a high character, high GPA & high-major player.
Jalen LecqueKentucky and Villanova were at Christ School on Thursday for their open gym. Villanova has already offered 2019 point guard Jalen Lecque and are showing that they are making him a priority. Kentucky and Villanova were also very interested in 2020 center Justice Ajogbor.
2020 6’4″ Christian Hampton (Northwest Guilford & Team CP3) and Dean Reiber (Northwest Guilford & Team Loaded NC) took an unofficial visit to UNCG this past weekend.
UNC-Greensboro keeps recruiting some of the best players in North Carolina. This past week, The Spartans had staff in to see 2019 Au’Diese Toney and 2019 Greg Gantt of Trinity Christian.
The Citadel was in last week to see 2019 guard Fletcher Abee of Freedom HS. Abee is one of the top shooters and scorers in the 2019 class for the state.
