Prospect Spotlight: Rashad Williams
A lot of basketball players at the high school level COULD be great. Very few are ALREADY great. It’s refreshing to see a young man quietly go about his work and let his greatness show on the court. Rashad Williams, in the class of 2018, is an example of a player like this. He goes about his business and proves on the court what type of player he is.
Rashad Williams, a combo guard from Wayne Memorial, is a shooter. The 6-3 guard has limitless range and stays efficient from deep. He is an exceptionally strong young man and knows how to use his strength when taking the ball to the basket. Williams‘ greatest asset may be his competitiveness and heart. He practices and plays with a ferociousness that is rarely seen. He can be seen early in the morning and late at night, in an otherwise quiet gym, working on his game.
Rashad Williams has worked tirelessly on his game this summer. He worked on “getting stronger and faster and ready for my freshman year of college.” Williams also spent a lot of time this summer on shooting and ball handling.
Rashad Williams has had many unforgettable moments experienced through basketball. His highlights would be winning the KLAA Championship and beating John Glenn twice. “I’m looking forward to playing Clarkston and EEVP again this season,” Williams said.
Williams brings a lot to a college basketball program. The obvious are his elite basketball skills. Beyond those talents, he brings an array of intangibles. He possesses will to win and a work ethic that cannot be topped. This was proven in the summer of 2016, when he had one of the best summers of any player in Michigan.
Rashad Williams has received plenty of offers, and a college decision should be coming soon. He is quite simply, one of THE BEST PLAYERS IN MICHIGAN. In my opinion, he should be in talks regarding Mr. Basketball in Michigan. I believe he is a major Division 1 talent and will prove that over the next few years.
