Recruiting Report: Luke Martin (2018)
Six-foot-7 power forward Luke Martin of Cheyenne Mountain has a college visit coming up soon. Martin talked with Prep Hoops today.
“Every game this summer was a blast to play with my team because I knew that everyone was going all out the whole time,” Luke said about his time with the Force.
“We had some really close and fun games towards the end of the summer in Vegas. This summer I just focused on being confident with every shot I took and tried to create my own shots throughout the game.”
Martin put up 14.4 points and 7.3 rebounds a game as a junior plus he blocked 1.5 shots a contest.
“The main focus this fall is to get faster and stronger,” Martin said. “I’m working on creating my own shots and fine tuning my handles as well.”
Martin shot 77 percent from the foul line, 44 percent overall, and 36 percent from the arc. His team is a lot more experienced and has bigger expectations.
“We basically return everyone from last year and last year we made it to the second round of the playoffs. We should go a lot further this year.”
Luke has an upcoming visit with one of his top local options.
“I will be visiting Colorado Christian coming up soon and have also heard from many RMAC schools,” Martin listed.
Martin’s coaches have had a big impact on his game over the years.
“Most of my coaches have had a lot of influence on me but playing against some of the best talent out there in our league the past couple years has been great (Hunter Maldonado, Dshawn Schwartz). C
“Canyon Barry also taught me a lot of things he’s learned. As far as my favorite basketball players, Michael Jordan will always be the greatest of all time but I’m looking forward to watching Devin Booker again this year.”
