LeRon Williams (Tinley Park – 2016)
This 6’3” long and rangy wing is a smooth shooting guard that presents some upside. He uses his long strides and handles to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Williams got in the lane with relative ease scoring at the cup. Also showed he could drill some deep three point shots. Sleeper senior prospect in the state.
Devin Blake (Downers Grove North – 2016)
The 6’5” small forward has a tremendous motor on both ends of the floor. He got things started in one game with a come from behind block where he chased his man down and pinned it against the glass. He is a versatile defender that can guard on the wing, but also be tough on the interior. Blake rebounds very well for his size using his strength and quickness on the glass. Offensively his jump shot was streaky throughout the day knocking multiple down in a row and then missing several. He made up for it with what he did consistently inside hitting the offensive glass and scoring in the paint with quickness. Will be a great D3 prospect.
Daniel Hoekstra (Bishop McNamara – 2016)
The Bishop McNamara 6’4” senior is a tough wing that that showed very well athletically slashing to the hoop and finishing through contact in the paint. Hoekstra who is known for being a plus shooter did that only in limited fashion instead displaying his athleticism cutting to hoop and hitting the offensive glass for second chance points. Nice D3 and NAIA prospect!
Michael Finley (Glenbard East – 2017)
Finley is a tough and gritty 6’1” shooting guard that does the little things. Plays tough defense and competes. Solid passer. Pushes it in transition. Quality wing defender that gets in passing lanes. Shot has good mechanics up top, but he doesn’t get a ton of elevation off the floor which doesn’t give him consistency with it.
Brady Hays (Jacksonville – 2017)
The Jacksonville product missed all of travel team season with injuries. He is happy to be back out on the court and playing in a competitive environment. This 6’3” shooting guard is best as a plus perimeter shooter from three. He is most effective when setting up on the wings and in the corners for three. Quick release and consistent mechanics. Still working his way back athletically from injuries. One to track this high school season.
Justin Bottorff (Quincy Notre Dame – 2017)
The 6’6” combo forward continues to improve athletically each time we see him. He is moving more fluidly than we saw him even a few months ago during July. Bottorff has great shot mechanics and a pure stroke from mid-range.
Elijah Winston (Oswego – 2017)
This 6’5” small forward from Oswego is built like a football player. He has a physical body and is an explosive athlete. Rebounded well on the defensive end and showed potential as a passer. Interesting prospect to track.
James Connolly (Grayslake North – 2017)
Connolly is a 6’3” wing that handles it well and can get to the basket. Also showed some versatility in his game with his ability to shoot it from deep with nice looking mechanics.
Dylan Kaczmarek (Downers Grove South – 2017)
Kaczmarek has some tools you have to like at 6’2” with plus athleticism. He showed that off on one shot block where he got up! The long and angular wing has a nice feel for the game and can shoot it some as well. Should put up big numbers as a junior.
Zach Rzewnicki (Ridgewood – 2017)
Rzewnicki opened eyes last season as a sophomore putting up some big scoring numbers. The 6’3” guard excels at being a perimeter shooter. He is most effective in the catch and shoot. Has gotten stronger over the last year.
Jalen Chavers (Bishop McNamara – 2018)
Chavers is a long and rangy shooting guard that plays with flare. He has slick handles and made a few sweet looking passes including a crazy no look dime. Hit a few perimeter jumpers, but was streaky in that area. Definitely some potential in this prospect.
Anthony Lynch (South Elgin – 2018)
The 6’3” long and wiry sophomore shooting guard has made noise on both the high school and travel team circuit early in his career. Lynch is active around the hoop making quick cuts to receive the ball and slashes to the basket off the bounce. He handles it smooth. Plus in the transition game both pushing it and as a finisher. Young wing with potential.
Quinlan Bennett (Proviso East – 2018)
Bennett has a lot of physical tools that impress you. He has that long and lanky build where he should continue to grow as well as get stronger. Smooth with the ball and has a nice looking shot. Should be a good defender down the line. Just scratching the surface of his immense potential.
Johnny Roeser (Carmel – 2019)
Roeser was one of the youngest prospects at the camp, but more than stands out against players older than him. The 6’4” small forward is going to make noise from day one at Carmel. He has great size already and a frame that is projectable. He is creative with the ball in the open floor handling it with ease and making sweet dishes to his teammates. Range on his jump shot to three. Even blocked a shot. Huge ceiling with this freshman prospect.
