With each week this fall, we are going to take a look at the latest recruiting news from DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
BIG DAVE TO KANSAS
Oak Hill Academy ’18 center David McCormack committed to Kansas this week. He picked the Jayhawks over Duke, Oklahoma State, Xavier, UCLA and NC State.
TIM MILES GETS HIS MAN XAVIER JOHNSON
Bishop O’Connell ’18 point guard Xavier Johnson committed to Nebraska this week. The senior floor general was also considering Georgetown and Georgia Tech.
HIGGS PICKS OLE MISS
Perry Hall ’18 forward Anthony Higgs committed to Ole Miss this week. Colorado, Tulsa, Towson, Old Dominion, Cincinnati, Saint Joseph’s, Coastal Carolina, George Mason, and UMass were among several schools in the mix.
MARCUS STEPHENS COMMITS TO STAC
CD Hylton sharpshooter Marcus Stephens committed to St. Thomas Aquinas this week. The senior took an official visit earlier this month after receiving an offer on September 13.
SHEPHERD LANDS EMMANUEL AGHAYERE
South Lakes center Emmanuel Aghayere committed to Shepherd this week. The energetic big man was a popular target among local division three programs, but should do well at the division two level.
ANDREW POWERS COMMITS TO MARY WASHINGTON
South Lakes ’18 forward Andrew Powers committed to Mary Washington this week. He has a good chance to see plenty of minutes from day 1 at the next level for Head Coach Marcus Kahn.
ZACH PFAFFENBERGER NAMES TOP THREE
Episcopal ’18 forward Zach Pfaffenberger has named a top three of Mount St. Mary’s, Binghamton & Sacred Heart, removing New Hampshire from his list. The senior has returned from his official visits, and he is expected to make his decision on October 7.
JERMAINE HARRIS SETS DECISION DATE
Rock Creek Christian ’18 post Jermaine Harris will take an official visit to Xavier this weekend. The senior, who has taken officials to Rhode Island and WVU, is expected to make his decision on October 6.
