250 Expo Standout Players: Class of 2018
Avery County High School Deacon Heath (6’0″ 2018) – One of the top performers at camp, he should have D2 programs keeping a close eye on him over the next season. He has a pretty solid frame, which allows him to embrace contact when he goes in the paint to finish plays. He can knock down shots from deep and midrange as well, he brings a business-like approach to the game and seems like a player that will have a nice amount of schools interested.
Forward Bryce Alfino (6’5’’) –Bryce has a very mature game, he didn’t force anything and seemed like he understood how to pick his spots well. As the day went on he got better, showing what type of conditioning he’s in, he also has nice athletic ability that he uses on both ends of the floor.
Enka High School Forward Joshua Walton (6’5″ 2018) – This young man was dominant the entire camp, including the training session time where all they players went through intense drills. He has a solid frame and uses his frame to get where he wants to go as well as playing physical basketball on the defensive end of the floor.
Rocky River Guard Elijah Sidbury (5’8″ 2018) – The saying ‘‘heart over height’’ would definitely apply to this young man if you watch him for any amount of time. He smaller in stature and in weight but he brings maximum effort, intensity and energy whenever he plays, he has good acceleration which he used to push the tempo and blow by opposing guards.
Franklin High School Guard Zach De La Cruz (6’2″ 2018) – This young man is a flat out hooper! He can score the ball in numerous ways, has good ball handling skills, and has a certain confidence and swagger about him that you have to respect. The way his recruitment unfolds will be very interesting as he is the type of player that could be beneficial to multiple programs.
