Best of the Best: Scorers Part Two
Yesterday we gave you part one, today we give you part two of our Best of the Best: Scorers report. Another talented group of young men who like those on the first list just flat out know how to get buckets. So here part two of our ultra-talented list.
Kameron Gibson/ Walnut Hills High School (2018)
The senior combo guard has one of the smoothest offensive games in the state of Ohio. Gibson has a mid-range jumper that is just about automatic and is just as good a shooter off the dribble as he is in catch and shoot situations. Also showed improvement shooting from the three as well over the summer travel season. Kameron is currently ranked 23rd in his class Ohio.
Darweshi Hunter/ Princeton High School (2018)
Another name that also appeared on the list of top shooters, this young man showed a much more diverse offensive game over the summer. Hunter looked much more comfortable shooting off one and two bounces and showed more of a willingness attacking the rim. On Wednesday, it was confirmed by Twitter that Darweshi received another offer from D-II Purdue Northwest.
Miles “Deuce” McBride/ Archbishop Moeller (2019)
When throwing and running for touchdowns, the first underclassmen on this list is filling it up on the hardwood. McBride is one of the best mid-range scorers in the state, regardless of class, but can also finish at the rim with strength. A crafty ball handler as well, Miles also does a solid job of using his body to get defenders off balance and for separation on his jump shot. Currently has offers from programs including Marist and Ohio University with interest from programs including Clemson and Xavier.
Colin Shaw/ Indian Hills High School (2018)
A name that you may not know about, Colin can score the ball from all three levels. While Shaw is more known as a shooter, I feel that he is at his best when off the dribble in attack mode. This allows him to shoot off one or two dribbles which he is effective at but allows him to get to the rim. The Braves senior is also very effective at not only drawing contact and getting to the free throw line. Colin is the 95th ranked player in his class in Ohio.
Greg Tribble/ Winton Woods High School (2019)
This fast- rising junior was in full attack mode throughout the whole summer. Tribble is a very athletic guard with good handle who goes to the rim strong and lives at the free throw line. Greg is also a very good shooter in that 12-17ft. area with a very good floater, a shot that all guards need. He has established himself as a D-I recruit with offers from mid/low-major programs including Morehead State and Stony Brook with interest from high major programs including West Virginia, Georgetown and Xavier amongst other programs.
Mark Wise/ Deer Park High School (2020)
A big crafty guard that proved to be a match-up problem in his freshman season with the Wildcats. Has the handle of a point, which he played most last season, but the size of a wing. Really good at getting to and scoring in the lane and is not afraid contact as well. Wise a jump shot that is also showing improvement. Mark is the 57th ranked player in the class of 2020.
