Prep Hoops Top 250: Most Explosive
There were quiet a few jaw dropping moments at the Top 250 Expo. Below are some of the prospects who demonstrated their explosive abilities at an elite level.
Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo: Most Explosive
Tyrese Eugene 6’0 PG 2018 Ironwood
Eugene is powerful. He gets into the paint at will due to his explosive change of pace and strength. In addition to getting into the paint, he finishes well around the rim and has a number of different finishes in his arsenal. Moreover, he demonstrated an ability to get up this past weekend as he was able to throw one down with authority in the Top 20 game.
Otis Frazier 6’5 PG 2019 Buckeye
Frazier put his athleticism on full display a number of times at the Expo. Getting into the paint was not a challenge for the explosive and lengthy guard. Further, he often finished around the rim with a bang. Frazier possesses great athleticism as well as uncoachable length that make him an intriguing prospect. Moreover, he has a solid skill set with some nice freeze moves that enable him to maximize his ability.
Hunter Shkapich 6’1 SG 2019 Valor Christian
Shkapich caught the attention of almost every spectator in the gym as he did a drop step dunk while doing the post series. If that was not impressive enough from the 6’1 guard who is a skilled shooter, he did a between the legs dunk during the break. Shkapich was one of the most sneaky athletes in the entire event. However, there was no secret about his athleticism by the time that he left.
Geronimo Warner 6’2 SG 2019 Mesa
Warner demonstrated his explosive abilities in transition a couple of times. He is able to get up with the best of them and had a couple of highlight real finishes in transition. Warner also has a nice first step that enables him to explode by the first defender and get to the second level of the defense.
Ajang Aguek 6’7 SF/PF 2018 Ironwood
Aguek had the most dunks out of any of the prospects that I saw at the event. The most impressive part was that he was able to explode to the rim and finish from so many areas on the floor. He had a number of rip throughs from the wing where he was able to create a presence in the gym due to his strong finish. Further, he had a couple of nice post moves that were finished with him demonstrating his explosive abilities.
Beau Williams 6’3 SG 2020 Perry
Williams was one of the most explosive guards at the event. He did a great job of making a move and getting to the next spot quickly. He frequently left his defender behind and impressed the staff greatly due to his ability to do explode while having great size. Williams has the ability to be a special guard due to his intangibles and explosion.
