Overall Prospect Rankings: #1 – #5
In September we released our rankings for the classes of 2018 and 2019. What if you took those classes along with 2020 and did an overall ranking regardless of class? This is what they would look like!
Today we unveil prospects #1 – #5!
#1 PG Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: #3
Dosunmu is the top prospect in 2018 and the top prospect overall in the state of Illinois regardless of class. He is an explosive point guard with size and the ability to get to the rack at will! Elite layup maker that scores at the cup and has great speed in transition.
#2 C Francis Okoro (Normal West – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: #2
Okoro is the top big man in the state period! The 2019 post is a strong and athletic center that has the ability to finish with force around the hoop. Elite level rebounder that also blocks shots at a high rate. Runs the floor tremendously well and has shown flashes of improving his post game.
#3 PG DJ Steward (Fenwick – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Steward is the highest rated 2020 prospect on this list making his debut at #3 overall. The smooth sophomore helped lead Fenwick to the state championship game last year and even bigger things are expected this year. He handles it well getting in the lane where he finishes with floaters and is a great leader.
#4 PG Adam Miller (Morgan Park – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Miller is an explosive point guard with great size and athleticism. He burst onto the scene as a freshman at Peoria Manual and followed it up with a strong summer on the circuit. Miller can get to the rim slicing and dicing defenses and is fluid handling it in transition.
#5 PF EJ Liddell (Belleville West – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: #12
Liddell continues to get better and better every time we evaluate this junior power forward. The athletic four man is mobile in the paint being able to score with hook shots, running the floor, and has an improving mid-range game. Plus rebounder especially on the offensive glass.
#5B PG Markese Jacobs (Uplift – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: #10
Jacobs was a late add on to this list as he recently moved back into the state after starting the year out at a prep school in Arizona. Jacobs is an explosive and compact point guard that has great athleticism and speed in the open floor. Gets to the rim and finishes well in the paint. Committed to Kansas.
