Area All-Star Teams: Metro East
What area of the state has the best talent? We designed our “All-Area All-Star Teams” for five regions throughout the state of Illinois. Here is our Metro East All-Star Team.
PG: Jalen Hodge (O’Fallon)
Hodge will run the show for the Metro East team with his flair for passing it and scoring pop with his pull up jumper.
SG: Malachi Smith (Belleville West)
Smith is a powerful and skilled wing scorer that will be asked to be a bucket getter for this squad.
SF: Terrence Hargrove (East St. Louis)
Hargrove is the top small forward in the metro east as the #3 2019 has upside with his athleticism, defense, and rebounding.
PF: EJ Liddell (Belleville West)
Liddell is the highest ranked prospect on this squad. He will be an anchor down low with his scoring ability on the block and emerging face up game.
C: Keith Randolph (Belleville West)
Randolph will be asked to rebound at a high level and play tough post defense for this squad.
Bench
Guard: Sammy Green (Alton Marquette)
Green comes off the bench with the ability to push the tempo, get others involved, and hit open shots.
Guard: Kevin Caldwell (Alton)
Really like having Caldwell on this team with his leadership and swagger that he brings on both ends of the floor.
Forward: Blake Weiss (Mascoutah)
Weiss is a power forward that runs the floor well and flashes skill on the block.
Forward: Caleb Strohmeier (Edwardsville)
For this particular team with the lack of wings Strohmeier will be able to play his natural power forward spot and get some wing minutes at the three on occasion.
Post: Patrick Readye (Belleville Althoff)
Readye is a young 2020 post that has upside. Great frame and can score on the block.
Post: Jacob Hall (Alton Marquette)
Hall is a skilled post that can score both facing up and on the block. Will fit in nicely with this group.
