Area All-Star Teams: Chicago Public League
What area of the state has the best talent? We designed our “All-Area All-Star Teams” for five regions throughout the state of Illinois. Here is our Chicago Public League All-Star Team.
PG: Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park)
This Morgan Park point guard is the top prospect in the state. He has the ability to change the game with his speed and athleticism.
SG: Javon Freeman (Whitney Young)
Freeman is a slick two guard that has a well-balanced game and his full game will be utilized on this team.
SF: Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon)
THT is the ultimate warrior in the 2018 class. The crafty and skilled wing can do a little bit of everything and will be a wing scorer on this team.
PF: Tamell Pearson (Morgan Park)
Pearson is the top power forward in Illinois. On a team loaded with guys that can put it in the hoop he will be asked to rebound and protect the rim.
C: George Conditt (Corliss)
Conditt is the perfect center for this team with his athleticism to run the floor and catch passes from the skilled guards/wings along with be a defensive presence on the interior.
Bench
Guard: Xavier Castaneda (Whitney Young)
Castaneda is the perfect sixth man on this team. He will come off the bench where he can either give Dosunmu a breather or play off him in the backcourt.
Guard: Kejuan Clements (Simeon)
Clements is the lone 2019 prospect on the team. His ability to get to the hoop and be athletic in the open floor fits nicely with this group.
Guard: Markese Jacobs (Uplift)
Jacobs is a Kansas commit that recently moved back to Chicago. He is a dynamic guard with a powerful body. Scores at all three levels and in transition.
Guard: Adam Miller (Morgan Park)
Miller is the young phenom on this team. The Morgan Park lefty is a slick guard that can score in both transition and the half court.
Wing: Zion Young (Simeon)
Young is a big time athlete that has the ability to come off the bench and bring intensity and defense.
Post: Raekwon Drake (Orr)
Drake is the Swiss army knife of this squad being able to defend multiple positions and play the three through five offensively.
Post: Messiah Jones (Simeon)
Jones is an energy guy off the bench that will rebound, protect the rim, and run the floor.
