Best of Best: Junk Yard Dogs
In our series “Best of the Best” we look at a specific aspect of a prospects game and evaluate who are the best at that specific thing across the state. Today we look at the best Junk Yard Dogs in Illinois.
SF Raekwon Drake (Orr)
Drake is your classic junk yard dog! He is tough as nails, competitive, and plays with an all-out motor every possession of the game.
PF Messiah Jones (Simeon)
Jones plays with a toughness and tenacity for the game that allows him to be one of the best post players in the state.
SF Dannie Smith (Orr)
Smith is a wing that does all the little things whether it is diving for loose balls, getting the offensive rebound, or defending the opposing teams best player.
SG Jayden Gasby (Curie)
Gasby is a strong and powerful wing that attacks the hoop. Plays with a great motor and should fit in great with his new Curie squad this upcoming season.
SG Kenyon Duling (Morgan Park)
Duling is a tough and aggressive wing that uses that on both ends of the floor. Rebounds, defends, and does the dirty work!
SG Joffari Brown (St. Joseph’s)
Brown is a tough wing that isn’t the most athletic, but just gets the job done. He without question gets the most out of his ability.
PF Jordan Morris (Proviso East)
Morris is a big, physical, tough, and athletic forward that asserts his will on the game by using these assets in his repertoire.
SG Brian Hernandez (Orr)
Hernandez is a physically built two guard that is the definition of toughness. He is known for his spot up shooting, but can also impact the game with his rebounding and grit.
SF Terrence Hargrove (East St. Louis)
Hargrove is a guy that just has a nose for the basketball. That elevates his game with his ability to be an elite rebounder, defender, and transition player.
SF Landon Wolfe (Effingham)
Wolfe is super tough just like his older brother was. He is a wing that plays with a never ending motor and pushes his teammates by making the little plays.
PF Keith Randolph (Belleville West)
Randolph is a tough and rugged post. He fights hard on the glass, boxes out, and grinds out opponents scoring on the block offensively.
PG Sean Houpt (Danville)
Houpt is that tough defensive minded point guard that gets under his opponents skin and they just can’t shake him. This kid will do anything to win.
SF Tyrelle Hunt (Curie)
Hunt is a 2020 combo forward that uses his strength and athleticism to make plays being physical in the paint.
