USF Elite Camp standouts
The big theme at USF is a “new era” with a brand new coaching staff, revamped facilities, the Bulls are looking to compete with the top college programs by building their program with recruits right in their backyard. This new era got off to a great start at their elite camp, here are some names that stood out.
Emmanuel Adedoyin Oak Ridge- The most impressive performance of the day goes to c/o 2019 guard Adedoyin. Taking charge right from tip-off, Emmanuel led his team in all aspects of the game, his most impressive outing came on a 30 point game. Adedoyin gets to the basket and finishes with ease anytime he wants, but what impressed most was his outside shot, dropping threes time and time again while getting his teammates involved, Adedoyin made a name for himself.
KJ Simon West Orange- One of the most athletic guards in the state showed his ability to get to the rim and finish with contact. Simon, who had a great July, picking up offer after offer dominated this camp. The play that stands out the most was when KJ had a two hand chase down block in which he snatched the ball mid-air after a layup attempt. Not only athletic, KJ showed off his improving shot, knocking down some impressive outside shots.
Luke Anderson Lakeland High School- Luke had a great day at USF, showing off his high basketball IQ all day long. Anderson has the ability to stretch the floor on offense with his reliable three point shot. His rebounding is the aspect of his game that left me impressed, a crafty and physical player around the rim, Luke finds a way to out-rebound bigger players. Anderson had a big summer and is primed for a huge season.
Jose Placer The Master’s Academy- Jose is a floor general, getting his teammates to and finding them in their hot zones are his most impressive attributes. Placer showed his ability to knock down shot after shot, a true point guard in every sense of the phrase was making plays throughout the camp. His ability to get to the basket and either finish in traffic or kick it out to the open man is impressive. A big time player who makes big time Plays.
Niven Glover The Villages Charter School- The most athletic player in the state and I would put him up against anybody in the country. There is no other player who draws the attention Niven does, if you’re looking to fill an arena with fans, look no further. Glover showed off an improving jump-shot and of course his high-flying ability. An aspect of Niven’s game which was not seen last year but showed off at USF, is his ability to bring the ball up full court and use his speed to fly past the defense and get to the rim. A high major talent is going to have a huge year at his new school, the Villages.
