Program MVP: Naseer Turner
Who was the MVP of each grassroots team program this past spring and summer? This might not necessarily be the best player although in many cases it is. We are looking at the player from Illinois that elevated their game and stepped up when it mattered most taking both themselves and their teams to the next level.
The Chicago Demons had a few prospects that were under consideration for this award, but at the end of the day we gave the nod to Kenwood 2018 small forward Naseer Turner. He is a projectable wing that has a long and lanky frame with broad shoulders. Didn’t get a ton of tick for his high school team last year, but is making noise with the Chicago Demons on the grassroots circuit which bodes well for next high school season. Turner does most of his damage in the lane. Quickness around the hoop. Finishes well in the paint. Should continue to get better at that once he adds on strength. Struggles shooting it from the perimeter consistently. Displayed improved feel passing it especially in the drive and kick game. Solid rebounding it in traffic. His signature moment was helping lead his team to a win over 1Nation at the Battle at the Lakes back in May.
Congratulations to Kenwood 2018 small forward Naseer Turner on winning the PrepHoopsIllinois Program MVP for the Chicago Demons.
