Program MVP: Landon Wolfe
Who was the MVP of each grassroots team program this past spring and summer? This might not necessarily be the best player although in many cases it is. We are looking at the player from Illinois that elevated their game and stepped up when it mattered most taking both themselves and their teams to the next level.
The Illinois Bears program is an extremely underappreciated group that consistently produces college basketball prospects across all levels out of southern Illinois. This summer was no exception. The Bears had several players who saw their stock rise with strong play on the grassroots circuit. One player that has taken his game to new heights is our program MVP and that is Effingham 2019 small forward Landon Wolfe. He is out of his brother’s shadow and in a starring role! Not only this summer, but for the next two years at Effingham. He is a strongly built wing that has good athleticism and the ability to impact the game in so many ways. He is a beast with his perimeter shooting and well-rounded offensive game. Wolfe put on an absolute show at the PrepHoops Show Me Showdown back in the spring leading his team to the championship game. He showed a diverse offensive arsenal that included deep pull up jumpers, getting to the rack for scores through contact, and rebounding at a high level. Wolfe really elevated his game this spring and willed his team to some wins against more highly touted players.
Congratulations to Effingham 2019 small forward Landon Wolfe on winning the PrepHoopsIllinois Program MVP for the Illinois Bears.
