Dayton’s Top Offers- Division I
Several guys in the Dayton area picked up college offers this summer. Here is a recap of some of those guys that received Division I offers and where they may be going.
Justin Ahrens (Versailles)- Since decommiting from Ohio State after Thad Matta left, Ahrens has been picking up offers almost weekly from schools across the country. From the SEC, he has Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Texas A&M. From the Big Ten and Big 12 he has Ohio State with their new coaching staff as well as Purdue and Iowa State. Finally he has Xavier and Virginia Tech also looking at him. Ahrens will fit in well wherever he goes and will provide immediate support with his strong shooting skill.
Darius Quisenberry (Wayne)- Quisenberry picked up several offers from Horizon League schools, including Youngstown State and Northern Kentucky as well as Cleveland State. The strong scoring PG also received offers from Robert Morris and Southeast Missouri State. Quisenberry has great speed and will likely fit well wherever he goes, especially if it is a Horizon League team.
Deshon Parker (Wayne)- Another backcourt star for the Warriors, Parker has had a big summer as he has picked up offers from James Madison, Miami (OH), and Presbyterian College. A great shooter and overall athlete, I see Parker fitting in well specifically with the Redhawks of Miami.
Samari Curtis (Xenia)- The high scoring junior from Xenia picked up offers from Akron and Toledo during the summer months. When I spoke with Curtis back in March, he informed me Arizona was a school showing interest in him. It will be intriguing to see how it plays out, as Curtis would be the first Ohio player to end up out West with Sean Miller since he became the Wildcats coach.
Amari Davis (Trotwood)- Surprisingly, Davis only picked up offers from Akron, Cleveland State, and Toledo during the summer. Davis is a defensive nightmare and can easily play at the D1 level. I wouldn’t be surprised if he picks up a few more offers soon from A-10 or even Big East schools.
Andre Gordon (Sidney)- Dayton’s top PG behind Darius Quisenberry, Gordon received offers from Akron, Toledo, and Wright State. An all-around star, Gordon will play D1 basketball when he graduates. Only a junior, he will continue to pick up major interest and could see some high majors offering him soon.
