Preseason All-Conference: Iowa Star North
Player of the Year: 2018 Sean McFadden, Don Bosco
The leading scorer for a Don Bosco team that has a real chance at making a state tournament run this season, he’s the best player in this division and has a chance at putting up some great numbers for a Dons team that is an overwhelming favorite in this division.
First Team
2018 Sean McFadden, Don Bosco (14.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 61.0 FG%)
The leading scorer for a Don Bosco team that went 21-2 last year, McFadden led the Dons in scoring, rebounding, steals and blocks last year, while shooting 61% from the floor. He’s the focal point of a team that figures to be highly successful again this season.
2018 Kaleb Cox, Dunkerton (14.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 46.6 FG%)
A versatile scoring wing who can do damage from anywhere on the floor, Cox led the Raiders in scoring and rebounding last year, while also showing he can facilitate the offense. With a majority of the team back, look for Cox’s numbers to raise a bit, while his team should win the division fairly handily.
2019 Codey Hicks, Janesville (13.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 68.0 FG%)
If anyone is going to average a double-double in the division this winter, it’s Janesville’s efficient post player. Hicks shot an astounding 68% from the floor last year and is the division’s leading returning rebounder.
2019 Spencer Hoff, Janesville (17.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists)
The leading returning scorer, Hoff put together a strong sophomore season, leading the Wildcats in scoring, steals and blocks while finishing second in assists despite missing six games. If he’s able to improve on his 40.8 FG% from last year, he could average above 20 points a game this year.
2018 Zach Johnson, Tripoli (14.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 60 3PM)
Nearly half of Johnson’s made field goals last year came from behind the arc (60 of 112) and the gunner knocked down 24 more 3s than any other returnee in the division. He, like Hoff, is another player who could see his numbers skyrocket if he can become more efficient (39.0 FG%).
