MVP Basketball All-Star Game
MVP Basketball All-Star Game
June 29th, 2017 – Spiece Fieldhouse | Fort Wayne, IN
The annual MVP All-Star game took place last night in Fort Wayne, IN. This event is meant to get players together from the area after they graduate and before the start with their college. The night consists of a game, three-point contest, and dunk contest. Team Parkview came away with the win, 120-94. At half time of the game, the two contests took place. Jack Ferguson of Homestead High School won the three-point contest and Anton Berry of Bishop Luers High School won the dunk contest. Both will be playing collegiately starting next season.
Typical of an All-Star game, there was minimal defense being played and everyone was putting up shots from deep. Spiece Fieldhouse was the correct venue size for the event as the main court was filled to standing room only. With a live DJ and basketball, the scene was set for a good event.
Ferguson, Manges, Bechtold, and Paul put on a show from behind the arc. Johnson and Berry finished well inside the paint around the rim. Fetters and Walpole created well of the bounce for their teams. A few of the players were not in attendance and the roster below is not completely exhaustive. There are a few players who did not make the roster sheet and are not included.
