Preseason All-Conference: South Central
Player of the Year: 2019 Gabe Larkin, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont
The leader of E-B-F, Larkin is the best returning rebounder in the league and one of the best scorers. A highly efficient forward, he knows where he excels and doesn’t stray away from that.
First Team
2019 Gabe Larkin, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (10.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, 53.6 FG%)
The 6-4 junior forward is as safe a bet as anyone in the league to record a double-double on any given night. He’s the league’s leading returning rebounder, and the third best returning scorer.
2018 Nick Maddison, Albia (12.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals)
The league’s leading returning scorer, Maddison is also one of the conference’s best threats from behind the arc. He leads a Blue Demons team that should be near the top of the conference standings.
2018 Dylan Stites, Chariton (11.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists)
The league’s second leading returning scorer, Stites is going to have the ball in his hands a ton following the graduation of Lim Chuol. Look for him to lead the conference in assists this season while also seeing his scoring numbers spike.
2018 Ben Wallace, Knoxville (9.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 50.0 FG%)
One of the few returnees for a Knoxville team that graduated a lot of talent, Wallace should put up big-time numbers for the Panthers this winter.
2018 Cade Crall, Albia (10.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists)
A talented, physical lead guard, look for Crall’s numbers to increase across the board with a lot of talent returning around him.
