Preseason All-Conference: Tri-Rivers West
Player of the Year: 2019 Jake Hilmer, North Linn
The best player in Class 1A, Hilmer is closing in on the state’s all-time assist record, still with two years left to play. After dishing out a state-best 275 assists last year, he sits 305 assists shy of the record.
First Team
2019 Jake Hilmer, North Linn (21.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 9.8 assists, 4.5 steals, 56.4 FG%)
Hilmer is the second leading returning scorer in 1A, and the leading assist and steals man in the state, regardless of class. He’s the best player in 1A and paces one of the state’s most potent attacks, which will only be better this year.
2018 Ryan Miller, North Linn (18.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.8 steals, 73 3PM, 46.2 3P%)
Another gifted scorer in the Lynx backcourt, Miller made an eye-popping 46.2% of his 3-pointers last season. He’s talented with the ball in his hands and has a chance at leading the team in scoring this season as Hilmer continues to put him in great positions to put the ball in the bucket.
2019 David Seber, North Linn (14.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 steals, 85 3PM, 37.0 3P%)
A sharpshooting off-guard who knocked down 85 3s last season, Seber is as good a third option as you’re going to find around the state. He averaged just under 15 points a game last season and is the beneficiary of tons of open looks set up by Hilmer every night.
2018 Bailey Arwine, Lisbon (15.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 50.0 FG%)
The best non-North Linn player in the division, Arwine is a skilled 6-5 wing who can score inside and out. He’s an efficient player who led the team in scoring, rebounding and blocks last season. He’ll be looking to lead a Lisbon team that was a little disappointing last year and looking to rebound.
2019 Zach March, Springville (14.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.0 steals)
The junior wing led the team in scoring last season and will be counted upon even more this year following the graduation of Cavanaugh Riley. He’s capable of scoring inside and out, and is a menace on the defensive end as well.
