Intro: Jackson Connor (2020)
Jackson Connor is a 6’5” freshman that had a quality first year of high school ball for Marion. The face up 2020 forward has good strength and plays with a motor. Rebounds well especially in his area. Fights hard on the glass and chases after loose balls. His relentless nature allows him to get junk points on the offensive end. He does have some skill however. Works best facing up where he can put it on the deck a couple times and is a sound passer. Shot wasn’t falling when we saw him, but we believe he should develop into a nice shooter with his form. Not sure how much more he is going to grow as he has thick legs early in the process. Connor will be a college prospect at some level and we look forward to seeing how the Marion product develops the next three years as he has a lot of tools to work with.
Connor played varsity this past year as a freshman.
“I played alright. I moved from Herrin to Marion. I feel like I adjusted pretty well. Senior Justin Shadowens helped me a lot. Getting used to everybody.”
What areas did he feel he showed he could do at the high school level?
“Rebounding and scoring overall. I like to post up. I can face up. I can shoot and drive.”
He told us what he thinks his biggest assets are as a prospect.
“I like to post up when I can. I like to play advantages. Post up and get strong. Face up and drive.”
Connor has a couple areas he is focusing on this spring/summer with Ramey-Jets United 15U.
“I want to work on my guard skills and defense.”
