Into: Keith Randolph (2019)
Belleville West 2019 post Keith Randolph is an undersized 6’5” power forward that plays extremely physical. He makes up for his lack of height with his never ending motor. Randolph keeps coming at you over and over. Broad shoulders and strong upper body. He is pretty mobile for his size. Quality area rebounder that snatches them with his strong hands. Gets most of his points off dump off passes and hitting the offensive glass. Runs the floor well. Offensive skill set will need to develop in time for him to max out his potential. Like we said though he does move well and is light on his feet which are a couple of good indicators that he could improve as a back to the basket scorer. Seals well receiving the ball. Defensively he gets under his opponents skin with his constant pressure. Randolph projects at this stage as a D2 prospect.
Randolph played a backup role this year for Belleville West.
“It went alright. I came off the bench as like the 6th or 7th man. I played on the front line next to EJ Liddell and Tyler Dancy which was great. We went pretty far. We won regionals. I thought we were going to win regionals. I think it was good overall.”
The high energy big man broke down what he does best.
“I am a post player that can go out and dribble a little bit. I am not a big shooter. I like to post up one on one and score from there. I like to go after it when I am on the court. Everybody knows that. I like to be the loudest one. I like to spook my opponents. I love to let everyone know I am in the paint. I am a transition player. I love to grab defensive rebounds and get going the other way.”
What is he looking to show this spring with Ramey-Jets United 16U?
“I want to improve my handling the ball and outside shot. I want college coaches to know that I am not afraid to play in the paint. I am a junk yard dog. I have that motor every game.”
