VISAA Junior All State Team
At Vantage, we try to do some things differently so our readers can see things from different perspectives. With the high school season over and AAU right around the corner, we thought it would be a good time to release our All State teams. While there are VHSL and VISAA All State teams already released, we decided to do things differently by splitting up our All State teams by class instead of classification.
Below is our choices at Vantage Hoops for the VISAA Junior All State team. It includes names from every classification D1-3, and were chosen through research and debate by the Vantage team. We have divided them up into First through Third Team, with 8 players in each, and an honorable mention list for the kids who were considered and deserve recognition for their terrific season as well.
Enjoy, and let the debate begin!
First Team
MVP: Jason Wade | Trinity Episcopal
While much was made of their front court with JMU commit Zach Jacobs and nationally ranked sophomore Armando Bacot, Wade was as important as anyone in their state title run. After Army commit Aaron Duhart missed most of the season with a knee injury, Wade was forced into a playmaking role. He handled the basketball, made plays for others and took shots late in the game, all while guarding the opposing team’s best scoring option.
