Prep Hoops Oklahoma Fan’s Player of the Year
The Prep Hoops Oklahoma Player of the Year award is approaching. First up for awards is the Fan’s vote for Player of the Year. Starting today the Polls will open with ten players up for the award. Voting will close Friday, March 24.
Trae Young Norman North 2017 Point Guard
Trae Young had the best season statically averaging 42.6 points per game for Norman North. Young led the Timberwolves to the Area Finals in his senior season.
Keyshawn Embery Midwest City 2018 Combo Guard
Keyshawn Embery took a huge step this year in his game averaging over 25 points per game. He led Midwest City to the state tournament after a two year absence.
Cameron Hines Fort Cobb 2017 Point Guard
Cameron Hines dominated for Fort Cobb all season long averaging 21.7 points per game. He led Fort Cobb to their third straight Gold Ball at the Big House.
Caleb Nero Tulsa Memorial 2017 Point Guard
Caleb Nero had a specular senior year for the Chargers leading them to win the Class 5A state title. He averaged 24.8 points, 4.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Jett Sternberger Kingfisher 2019 Point Guard
Jett Sternberger is the youngest player on the list, but is well deserving as he led the Yellowjackets to the Class 4A State Title. He averaged double-digits for Kingfisher.
Brady Manek Harrah 2017 Forward
Brady Manek had a great senior year for Harrah leading them to the State Tournament in Class 4A. It was his best season numbers wise as Manek averaged 25.0 points and 11.9 rebounds.
Elijah Landrum Tulsa Central 2017 Point Guard
Elijah Landrum did not end his senior year with a Gold Ball, but did have a great run with Tulsa Central. He led the Braves to the semifinals in Class 4A averaging 26.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
Marques Wilson Edmond North 2017 Combo Guard
Marques Wilson sacrificed for his team throughout the year and did everything that was asked of him. In the state tournament Wilson led the Huskies charge as they went on to win the Class 6A Gold Ball. He averaged over 20 points per game.
Mason Harrell Carl Albert 2018 Point Guard
Mason Harrell led the Titans to the semifinals. He stepped his game up to another level this year averaging 30 points, 5.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Ethan Chargois Union 2017 Forward
Ethan Chargois had a great year for the Union Redskins scoring the ball at a very efficient rate. He averaged a double-double for the season dominating the paint.
Voting closes Friday, March 24 at noon. The Fan’s Player of the Year choice will be presented at the Prep Hoops Oklahoma All-Star game this spring.
