Northstar Hoops Minnesota National Guard – Team of the Week Feb 27-Mar 4
Here are this week’s options for Team of the Week:
Prairie Seeds Academy
Prairie Seeds ended the season with quite the run, sweeping the Twin Cities Athletic Conference tournament. The Lycans beat the Charter Stars Monday before blowing out Hope Academy and capped off the week with an 82-72 win over Cristo Rey Jesuit Saturday.
Crosby-Ironton
Talk about a huge win heading into the postseason. The Rangers picked up a massive one, beating Esko 58-55 in overtime. Those two teams will likely meet up again in the postseason. Who knows what kind of impact this game will have on that potential meeting, but the win is certainly a good one.
Waseca
Another team picking up a huge win over a team it’ll likely face in the postseason, Waseca knocked off Marshall in the Big South Conference Championship game, getting 28 points from sophomore guard Malik Willingham. The Bluejays also beat Kasson-Mantorville earlier in the week.
Maple Grove
The Crimson wrapped up their regular season with a handful of really nice wins. Maple Grove beat Osseo Monday in a hotly-contested affair before beating Elk River and Andover.
Rochester Mayo
The Spartans won their final three games of the regular season, beating Red Wing, Winona and Faribault to go into the postseason on a high note. Mayo had lost to both Winona and Faribault in the first meetings between those teams.
