All-State Tournament Team: Class 6A
A lot of talented players took the floor this past week in Lakeland for the FHSAA state basketball tournament.
Here is the Class 6A all-state tournament team.
1st Team
Lance Erving (Leesburg)
The sophomore was the most consistent playmaker for Leesburg. He scored 20 points in both the semifinal and final. In the title win over Mariner on Saturday, Erving finished 7-of-9 from the field and 3-of-4 from the beyond the arc. The 2019 prospect is on his way up.
Amari Haynes (Mariner)
Haynes had a huge semifinal with 21 points and nine rebounds as the Tritons took out Palatka. In the final, the senior big man got off to a slow start but earned a 15-point, eight-rebound showing. Haynes should be able to find a landing spot at the next level with his frame and basketball IQ.
Cordrayius Graham (Leesburg)
The junior guard is a perfect compliment to Erving. Graham had 17 points in the final which included 8-of-10 free throws from the line. He also had 17 points in the semifinal along with a game-high five steals. Graham can improve his stock next season with more attacks to the basket like he did in the tourney.
Ryan Wallace (Ribault)
Wallace went out swinging in a six-point semifinal loss to eventual champion Leesburg. The senior guard shot 10-of-20 from the field for a game-high 26 points. Wallace had 10 rebounds before fouling out late in the game.
