All-State Tournament Team: Class 4A
A lot of talented players took the floor this past week in Lakeland for the FHSAA state basketball tournament.
Here is the Class 4A all-state tournament team.
1st Team
Paul Atkinson (Westminster)
The Yale commit had himself a fantastic state tourney. Atkinson scored 17 points and added 12 rebounds in the state final win over Providence. In the semifinal, the lengthy forward put on a show with 20 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks. This kid is headed towards a solid collegiate career.
Zack Bryant (Providence)
Bryant did all he could in the final with 18 points and four rebounds, but Providence couldn’t score enough down the stretch. The senior UAB commit had 23 points and seven assists in the semifinal win over Archbishop Carroll. He’s a determined player who can burn you with his dangerous floater.
Daniel Cordero (Archbishop Carroll)
At times, Archbishop Carroll hung around in the semifinal against Providence. Cordero solely kept his group around with a game-high 26 points. He shot 9-of-14 from the field and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. The senior didn’t go down without a fight in his last high school game.
Zach Scott (Westminster)
It wasn’t the best shooting week for Scott, but the junior point guard set the tempo for his group. He had 18 points in the final and eight points in the semifinal. Scott is going to have be an even bigger leader next season as a senior.
