6A All-Tournament Team
The 6A state tournament featured only one “upset” with one loss Basha, who was the #2 seed, taking down #1 Corona Del Sol. However, for the most part, the players that everyone expected to play huge factors in the one and down tournament, did their jobs. Below is a list of the 6A All-Tournament Team.
6A All-Tournament Teams
6A MVP
Gabe Mcglothan 6’6 PF/C 2017 (Army)
Mcglothan did a little bit of everything for Basha. He was responsible for playing the top spot in a shifting 3-2 zone, he guarded the post, guarded guards, set solid screens, and did a great job sealing. His versatility was a game changer for Basha throughout the state tournament. He will be a solid pick-up for Army due to his array of skills and tremendous athleticism.
6A 1st Team All-Tournament
Terrell Brown 6’4 SG/SF Basha 2017 – Brown was crucial for the success of Basha as he controlled the tempo of the game and created well for himself as well as others. His ability to shoot the basketball from deep forced defenders to have to guard him further out which created driving opportunities for himself and shots for his teammates.
Alex Barcello 6’2 PG Corona Del Sol 2017 (Arizona) – Barcello has blessed the stat of Arizona over the past 4 years with his tremendous play. His ability to create shots off of the dribble and to shoot off of the catch is second to none.
Saben Lee 6’3 PG/SG Corona Del Sol 2017 (Vanderbilt) – Lee was able to get it going late against Basha, but it would prove to be too late. However, Lee and Barcello were a nightmare 1-2 punch for Corona Del Sol which led to them having tremendous success this past season.
Wesley Harris 6’6 SF/PF Desert Vista 2018 – Harris is one of the toughest players to play against in the state due to his relentless effort and motor. He is constantly finding ways to create energy and make plays. His energy and skill set were huge reasons for the success of this team down the stretch.
Michael Rogers 6’3 PG/SG Cesar Chavez 2018 – Rogers was a handful for any team he played against all season due to his size and skill set. He is a strong young man who is quick and able to get into the paint at will. In addition, he does a great job on the glass despite being a guard.
