Jacksonville-Providence vs. Miami-Archbishop Carroll (10 a.m.)
The Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs (29-2) knocked off Florida Christian by a smooth 19 points en route to a Lakeland berth last Tuesday night. The Stallions (24-5) came into the regional final against P.K. Yonge having won their last three games by an average of 44.6 points. On Tuesday, they took a 14-point victory. Stallions guard Zack Bryant led the charge with 18 points, 10 in the fourth quarter. If Providence can play Carroll with the great pace they did on Tuesday, they’ll have a chance to frustrate the Bulldogs.
Seffner Christian vs. Ft. Lauderdale-Westminster Academy (12 p.m.)
Seffner’s squad played the No. 1 team in class 4A like THEY, were the true No. 1. The Crusaders (24-6) offed The First Academy by 18 points in last Tuesday’s regional final. Eight Seffner seniors are not ready for their high school careers to end. They’ll face the Westminster Lions (27-4) who pulled out a gritty two-point win against Sagemont to advance. It seems the Crusaders have hit their stride, now ranked sixth in class 4A by maxpreps.com. But, will the Lakeland stage bring out the best of the Atkinson brothers for the Lions?
