Northstar Hoops Minnesota National Guard – Team of the Week Feb 20-25
Here are this week’s options for Team of the Week:
Lake City
The Tigers are heading into the postseason on a high, beating Goodhue 50-35 Saturday to earn the Hiawatha Valley League conference championship. A team that made wholesale changes after graduating a huge bulk of its team, the Tigers rebuilt on the fly in a big way.
Holdingford
The Huskers have quietly racked up 20 wins on the year and are seemingly peaking at the right time. Holdingford’s on a six-game winning streak, winning three games last week starting with wins over St. John’s Prep and Osakis before putting the exclamation mark on the week with a win over Eden Valley-Watkins.
Minneapolis Patrick Henry
Another team finding its groove just in time for the postseason, the Patriots are surging. Winners of seven games in a row, the Patriots picked up three wins last week. The big one was a Tuesday win over Delano. Patrick Henry added two more wins later in the week, beating Blake Thursday and winning at Moorhead Saturday.
Ada-Borup
One of the top teams in Class A, Ada-Borup improved to 22-2 on the year thanks to a three-win week. The Cougars beat Pelican Rapids Tuesday then beat Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Thursday before a big Saturday win over Win-E-Mac.
Champlin Park
The Rebels passed yet another tough test in their quest for an undefeated season Thursday when they beat DeLaSalle 87-77. Champlin also took down Elk River – a team that went into the game hot – and Spring Lake Park. The Rebels have a great shot to finish the season undefeated as they close with the season at Totino-Grace and at home against Robbinsdale Armstrong this week.
