Potential Spring Stock Risers: 2019 PGs
In our series “Potential Stock Risers” we look at a group of prospects at each position in various classes and give insight to some of the players that could breakout this spring and see their recruitment take a major step forward. Here is our Potential Spring Stock Risers: 2019 Point Guards.
Kejuan Clements (Simeon)
Overall Rank: #7
Position Rank: #2
Clements had a quality sophomore campaign playing major minutes in the backcourt next to UTEP commit Evan Gilyard. He has the athleticism, ball handling, and scoring ability to make a big leap forward this spring. Could emerge on D1 radars and pick up some early offers.
Dashon Enoch (OPRF)
Overall Rank: #24
Position Rank: #5
Enoch played his role as a complimentary player at OPRF as a sophomore. He is a power guard that gets after it on the defensive end of the floor. Strength plays well offensively letting him get downhill at attacking off the bounce. Will get the opportunity to be the man on his Made Men 16U team. We should be able to see his full repertoire.
Jamir Price (Rock Island)
Overall Rank: #25
Position Rank: #6
Price is a well built and athletic combo guard that can slide over and play some two when asked. The athleticism and burst he brings to the table with the ball in his hands along with his ability to both score and pass should put him on the radar of college coaches while playing for Quad City Elite.
Zach Touissant (Johnsburg)
Overall Rank: #41
Position Rank: #9
Touissant is an under six foot point guard that plays with a ton of flare and flat out scores! Once he crosses half court he is ready to fire. Expect some buzz to occur with this Johnsburg sophomore guard.
Treye Tucker (Christian Life)
Overall Rank: #42
Position Rank: #10
Tucker is very reminiscent playing style wise to Jason “White Chocolate” Williams. Off the charts flare for playing the lead guard position with great passing feel and can connect from beyond the three point arc. Tight handles in traffic.
Detalian Brown (Morton)
Overall Rank: #46
Position Rank: #14
Brown is a prospect that is steadily growing on us. He has the ability to affect the game on both ends of the floor. Has some projectability that gives him upside. If he can get in the right travel team situation he could explode.
Tyler Cochran (Bolingbrook)
Overall Rank: #54
Position Rank: #15
We have been impressed with Cochran in the second half of the high school season. Will make a jump in the next update based on that, but that combo guard with size has experience playing on the 17U level so he won’t be scared of the bright lights. Look for him to flourish this spring.
Jaheim Holden (Evanston)
Overall Rank: #59
Position Rank: #17
Holden broke out as a sophomore. The small left handed point guard has a high IQ, gets others involved, and can score a little. Will be interesting to see if he can continue that momentum into the spring and summer on the circuit.
