6th Edition of the Utah Player of the Week.
We’re back for the 6th edition of Player of the Week in the state of Utah. Region play is over half way over and we had some impressive performances during the last week. Here are our candidates for player of the week for January 30th through February 4th. Voting is located at the bottom.
Parker Christensen 5’11 SR Guard (Maple Mountain) in two wins last week he averaged 23.5 points and 4 assists per game including a 34 point outburst in a blowout win over Salem Hills. Christensen has played better than any guard in 4A since region play started and can score in so many ways. He could step in and help a junior college as a freshman next year.
Stockton Ashby 6’3 SR Guard (Hillcrest) in two wins last week he averaged 18.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game including 25 point and 8 rebound performance versus Kearns. Ashby has been a great overall player this year and has lead Hillcrest to a 13-4 record as they sit in 2nd place in Region 6. He is a junior college prospect who could play at a higher level after playing two more years.
Koby Butler 6’5 SR Forward (Emery) in two wins last week he averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds and was absolutely dominate in the games. Butler has been a man among boys this year in 2A. He is able to score in some many ways on the block and is also able to step out and shoot. He will be at the March 18th PrepHoops Exposure Camp so it will be fun to see him compete against some big school prospects.
Boston Allen 5’10 SR Guard (Clearfield) in two wins last week he averaged 21 points per game. I have been very impressed with his game this year and Allen is a huge reason why Clearfield is in the hunt for a playoff spot out of Region 1. Allen is a deadly shooter who can also put the ball on the floor and get to the hoop and also has a nice mid-range game. I think he can play at the small college level.
