Top Unsigned 2017 Small Forwards
Currently 33 of Ohio’s 40 best seniors are committed to a college program. But there are still valuable assets remaining on the market. This week, Prep Hoops Ohio is providing a list of the best unsigned prospects at each position.
The small forward list is not the deepest, but it is the top-heaviest.
The first three are who I believe could add the most to a college program. Otherwise, the names aren’t in any particular order.
Naz Bohannon — Lorain — 6’6”: It was surprising that Bohannon didn’t sign a letter of intent for football last Wednesday. But as he told PHO in November, academics may be the determining factor in his college decision regardless of sport. Bohannon is an elite athlete who can score at all three levels. He also carries a 4.15 GPA, 26 on the ACT, and will come into college with an associates degree. Current basketball offers: Army, Wisconsin Green Bay, Bowling Green, Kent State, Indiana State, Brown, and New Mexico.
Malek Green — Cincinnati Taft — 6’6”: Green can do it all. He can line up at any spot around the wing while also being effective as a four. The super athlete is currently averaging 20.4 points, 13.7 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, while shooting 62.7% and 50% from three. At last check, Green holds one offer from Stony Brook.
Dominic Laravie — Archibishop Alter — 6’6”: Laravie had one of the most impressive performances we’ve witnessed this season a few weeks back against a solid Chaminade-Julienne team. While Laravie plays mostly in the post for Alter, he possesses the shooting ability and athleticism to be a wing player. Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Mercyhurst, and Christian Brothers have offered.
Isaiah Gable — Greenville — 6’6”
Darryl Robinson — Toledo Bowsher — 6’5”
Keshawn Underwood — Columbus Northland — 6’4”
Logan Jessing — Sylvania Northview — 6’5”
Luke Hippler — Columbus St. Francis — 6’5”
Kyvon Mattress — Cincinnati Taft — 6’4”
Justin Johnson — Cincinnati Roger Bacon — 6’5”
Antoine Smith — Westerville South — 6’7”
James Johnson — Cincinnati Roger Bacon — 6’6”
John Burnham — Toledo St. Francis — 6’5”
Dawsin Tillman — Bellefontaine — 6’5”
