Top Five Performances
- Connor Konschak of Hatton-Northwood, a 6-foot-2 junior, went for 42 points and ten three-pointers in a win over North Border. Ten three-pointers!!!
- Kidder County senor Brighton Fallgatter goes for 32 points and 18 points in a win over MPB. This is one of those senior explosion guys who is now getting on the radar of some college programs.
- KyJuan Johnson leads Minot to a win controlling the game against Century. He had 24 points including a couple treys.
- Jayden Komrosky scored the 1,500th point of his career in a win over Dunseith. The Jamestown signed player has led North Star to an excellent season so far. He had 24 in that recent win.
- Jake Paper put up a double-double of 19 and 15 in a Fargo Davies 80-63 win over Fargo North.
Top Five Eye-Openers
- Minot beating on Century 70-51. Think of how different things are now compared to when these teams played that overtime game not to long ago. Century also recently lost to Dickinson and Minot. Minot had four guys in double figures.
- Bismarck is better than people think. The record isn’t great but the schedule has been tough locally plus they played in a tough non-conference event out of state that led to a record that looks uglier than it really is. Tanner Davis, Joe Jahner, and Solomon Garter all in double figures.
- Thompson senior guard Calen Schwabe scored 27 on Tuesday which out-scored the entire Griggs County team (they had 26).
- Devils Lake got 23 points from Jake Mertens and held on to beat Fargo South 65-62.
- Linton/HMB went into South Dakota and beat a good Herried/Selby team 55-45.
Top Five “You Made Your Point”
- Des Lacs-Burlington over 5-win Glenburn 99-42.
- Five win teams took a beating Tuesday as Thompson crushed GCC 64-26 and Ellendale beat Edgeley 60-37.
- The Hornets were buzzing at 8-4 and thinking upset, and then Four Winds crushed them 73-39.
- GC Central is winless but WF Sheyenne left no doubt in beating them 72-37.
- Parshall defeated Trenton 86-24 to improve to 10-4 on the season.
Top Five Take Note
- Freshman Broden Skunberg scored 21 points for Jamestown in a loss. This is a freshman that many are raving about right now.
- Minot State has Jack Schaefer coming to them on a small scholarship but the way he’s playing the value is going to be great for the college program. He had 31 points in a win over Benson County.
- Another freshman of note is Tyler Loe from Dakota Prairie. He scored 17 in a win over Lakota. The six foot guard teamed well with junior Hunter Sand who scored 22.
- While on the theme of ninth graders, Trace Goven scored 17 points for Rugby who beat Velva 62-51 on Tuesday.
- Bishop Ryan is a team we need to talk about. They are 13-2 and the only losses came by two versus Shiloh and by three versus Our Reedeemer. They beat Kenmare, Trinity, and most recently Berthold. They will have a chance to make a point with TLMM, Des Lacs-Burlington, and Rugby left on the remaining regular season schedule.
Undefeated
- Fargo Davies is the only Class A undefeated team and they are beating teams by an average of 75-55 a night. Devils Lake gave them a couple close games, Fargo North took them to the buzzer in the first game, Shanley was right there losing by three, and GFRR lost by two scores. Bottom line is, they are veterans that know how to win.
- John is 13-0 and winning games by 28 points a contest. The only close game they’ve even had was with Rugby by six points.
- That’s it. Out of 128 teams there are only two left undefeated.
- On the other side of things there are three teams still winless; Grand Forks Central, South Prairie, and Drayton/Valley-Edinburg.
