3rd Edition of Utah Player of The Week
We’re back for the 3rd edition of Player of the Week in the state of Utah. Region play is underway and we had some impressive performances last week. Here are our candidates for player of the week for January 9th through January 14th. Voting is located at the bottom.
Max Watson 6-4 JR Guard (Box Elder) had a big-time week for the Bees. In two games versus Woods Cross and Ogden, Watson averaged 32 points and dominated his competition. He has shown that he is one of the best juniors in the state of Utah and is a D1 prospect.
Steven Ashworth 6-0 JR Guard (Lone Peak) stepped up his game this week in two wins versus Herriman and American Fork. In the wins, Ashworth averaged 19 points and 8 assists per game. He is proving to be one of the best point guards in the state. We have him as a solid D2 prospect.
Hunter Erickson 6-3 JR Guard (Timpview) was incredible this week for the Thunderbirds. He averaged 31 points per game in two wins versus Timpanogos and Provo. Erickson is a big-time shooter who is also a great athlete and had an impressive dunk versus Provo. He already holds one D1 offer and I would think he will be getting many more.
Trey Farrer 6-8 SR Forward (Pine View) continued to do what he been doing the entire year. Farrer averaged 21 points and 9 rebounds in two region wins. He has dominated 3A basketball and has proven he has improved from last year. Farrer’s recruiting is pretty quiet but we believe he is a low-D1 and high D2 prospect.
