Jamal Washington was the most consistent player on both ends of the floor last night. The unsigned senior guard demonstrated admirable toughness and finished strong through contact.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | JAMAL WASHINGTON | POTOMAC ’17
Washington scored 31 points in very efficient fashion. He converted on all nine of his foul shot attempts. Washington is certainly strong enough to score in the post, but will also face up, beat his man off the dribble, and hit shots from the perimeter.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | NANA OPOKU | POTOMAC ’17
Mount St. Mary’s commit Nana Opoku repelled 10 shots in this one. The long & lanky 6’8 forward is very mobile and displays great instincts when contesting shots.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | DEVON MCDONALD | POTOMAC ’17
Devon McDonald quietly finished this game with 10 points and 4 assists. The quick and crafty lead guard is very deliberate and rarely makes a poor decision.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | DOM BRASWELL | FREEDOM ’18
By looking his stat line, you probably wouldn’t have realized Domonic Braswell came off the bench in this one. He scored 20 points, tying him for the team lead.
BEST REBOUNDER | NANA OPOKU | POTOMAC ’17
Opoku hauled in a game-high 11 rebounds. He always boxes out and is very good at tracking the ball and securing it at it’s highest point.
BEST CATCH & SHOOT GUY | DOM BRASWELL | FREEDOM ’18
Braswell proved that he can really shoot it from the perimeter. The smooth 6’3 lefty moves well off the ball and doesn’t need much time to get his shot off. He hit four threes.
BEST PASSER | JAMES WEST IV | FREEDOM ’17
Mount St. Mary’s commit James West IV dished out a game-high 11 assists in this one. The skilled and reliable playmaker is so good at breaking down defenders and drawing all the attention on himself before finding open teammates.
BEST INTANGIBLES | ELY CAMP | POTOMAC ’17
Ely Camp turned in a vintage performance in Potomac’s win. The highly competitive lead guard initiated Potomac’s high octane transition offense with his power, pace and playmaking ability.
