SG Lucas Williamson (Whitney Young)
Williamson is the top uncommitted wing in Illinois and he has showed why as a senior. Never forces anything and lets the game come to him. This year he is taking on a much bigger scoring load. The senior wing is a slasher that gets to the hoop where he knows how to use the glass to score. Solid mid-range jump shooter. Versatility is his calling card still. Contributes passing, rebounding, and defending. Mid-major and low-major programs looking for a wing that can contribute across the board this is your guy!
SF Charles Payton (Olympia)
Payton is one of the best athletes in the class. He transferred from Bloomington to Olympia for his senior campaign and has posted huge numbers all season. At 6’6” he is a versatile defender that can check multiple positions. Excels in the open floor and hitting the offensive glass. Most likely will have to play JUCO for a couple years. Top JC wing prospect in Illinois.
SF Coreyoun Rushin (Westinghouse)
Rushin is one of the more underrated prospects in the senior class. At 6’5” the Westinghouse small forward brings elite athleticism to the table. He is a freak athlete around the rim as he shows on monster dunks. Offensively he is best slashing off the bounce finding a seam in the lane and exploiting it with his explosive first step. Jumper is a bit streaky. Can also post up defenders and use his quickness inside. Low-major D1 prospect.
SG Chris Harris (Lake Forest Academy)
He is a powerfully built guard with quickness and uses his bounce in the transition game as a finisher. Stretches the defense on occasion with a three ball which has improved over the last year. Plus perimeter defender that locks down his man. Played more of a glue role for the Illinois Wolves on the circuit. Putting up monster numbers early in season. Low-major/high D2 prospect.
SF Romon Douglas-Watkins (Peoria Manual)
RDW is a 6’5” small forward that has a long and athletic frame. Productive scorer that slashes off the bounce. Will be sidelined with an injury this season. Could be a guy that elevates his stock at a JUCO program over the next two seasons and then become a D1 player after that.
SF Alton Thompson (St. Patrick’s)
Thompson is a freak athlete with quality size and length for the wing position at the next level. Gets after it on the defensive end with his quickness and lateral mobility. Offensively flashes skill including passing it well for a wing and can hit a jumper on occasion. His game however is based on his raw athleticism and explosion around the hoop and in transition. Thompson is a transfer from California. Low-major/D2 prospect.
SG Brandon Trimble (St. Joseph’s Ogden)
Trimble stands at 6’3” and is a plus athlete. He is best getting out in transition where he flies down the floor as a wing finisher. Moves well away from ball. Solid scorer off the bounce. Small high school player that can post monster scoring numbers. Worth a look at the low-major level and D2.
SF Marvin Bateman (Belleville Althoff)
Bateman is a long and lanky 6’4” small forward that excels shoot it from the perimeter. He is a major catch and shoot threat that lets it fly from deep. Can be streaky at times, but the majority of the time he is on point from three and stretches defenses with his shooting. D2 prospect.
SF Oliver Stephen (Edwardsville)
Stephen stands at 6’4” with solid athleticism, but much like his AAU teammate Bateman he makes his money shooting the ball. Stephen is a plus spot up shooter that has a quick release from three. A D2 program should find great value with him.
SF Doug Wallen (Champaign Central)
Wallen is a 6’4” combo forward that has versatility. He can shoot, pass, and rebound well for his size. Doesn’t do one thing great, but is a prospect that does everything well and will be an outstanding complimentary player at the D2 level.
