Kirby and his Sagemont Lions lost to Patrick School (N.J.) 80-62 but they didn’t go down without a fight late in Ft. Myers, Fla.
The 6’2″, 190-pound sophomore shot an efficient 4-of-6 from the field with eight points, three rebounds and two assists in just less than 20 minutes on the floor.
Alongside Kirby is highly touted senior forward Tyler Polley, senior Tomas Verbinskis and juniors Samir Stewart and Dima Zdor. In Class 3A, Sagemont is going to compete once again in the state of Florida.
Kirby is one of those players that does all the little things. He has a nice touch to his shot, can drive to the basket and hustles on defense. Once he matures even further, Kirby should be able to take that next step.
In the Prep Hoops Florida 2019 rankings, Kirby is No. 16 overall.
Right now, he holds an offer from NC State which he earned back in May. Expect to hear more about this Sagemont sophomore a lot this season.
