That will likely be the case for others. Here are five bigs who are currently under the radar but have the talent to be productive at the next level.
Tyrell Setness (6-6, Fargo Davies, Sr). Setness is a well built four man who is agile and rolls off screens in a way that many bigs won’t be able to defend. Setness didn’t have big numbers as a junior but there are big expectations this winter after a great off-season. He is visiting Mayville State, Concordia-Moorhead, and Valley City State soon and he would be great for those schools.
Kaedyn Hanson (6-6, Stanley, Jr). In our latest rankings we listed Kaedyn has a top five guys in the state prospect wise and he may even be higher than that. He will surely be higher than that if he grows another inch. His mobility, aggressive nature, and consistency of results with the Cougars let the state, and the Midwest know that he will come at anybody looking for double-doubles.
Bartholomew Ogbu (6-6, Shiloh Christian, Jr). We saw Ogbu at the Gopher team camp and were impressed with the way he moved as a strong 6-foot-5/6-foot-6 big. Ogbu has a combination of agility, physique, and bounce that few in the state have right now. He is raw but what he could be as an athlete is yet to be determined. He’s played tight end and cornerback for his high school football team despite being one of the bigger guys on the team.
Jagger Miller (6-6, Devils Lake, Jr). Miller measured in at 6-foot-6, 210 pounds this fall for football where he played quarterback and linebacker. Also this fall Miller stood out at the Expo boarding with the best at the event, he finished on the move at a high percentage with excellent off ball movement, and this year he should help the Firebirds have a big year.
Macauley Young (6-8. Shiloh Christian, So). Young had a nice year with the ECI Prospects, the kind of year that led to Young looking like the best big man prospect in the state in his class at the moment. The name is not out there much yet but with a nice high school year for one of the best teams in state and a nice 16U year, it will be.
