They have all made something as simple as the triple threat into a weapon by making good decisions and the threat to hit shots from anywhere on the floor. These guards have a chance to be on the rise in 2022-23
This kid plays out of the triple threat as well as I have seen over the past few months. He always seems to make the right decisions, and he is fully adept at shooting, driving, and passing. He is a player you watch and find yourself wanting the ball in his hands. He has good quickness and plays with speed. He can blow by the defense which is set up with his shooting abilities. He is a deadly shooter, which is paramount to the triple threat success he has. It may seem simple but he has made it into a weapon and it comes naturally. He also adds a nice mid-range game.
Lights out shooter and another one you find yourself wanting to have the ball in his hands. He has a beautiful looking shot that is compact and quick. He will pull it from anywhere, making him a dangerous player from the triple threat as well. I think the common theme here is players who have the ability to make decisions on the fly and that comes from being a threat to shoot it effectively from anywhere on the court. He is also a decent athlete who can throw down a dunk on the break. He’s also great at jumping passing lanes and getting steals by anticipating. He does this often and it’s his athleticism that allows him to get his hands on the ball. He can get hot and knock down a flurry of threes and will take what is given. All three of these guys know how to get their shots off.
I can’t write about triple threat and not include the best pull-up jumper in the state. He sets up his mid-range as well as any, using the triple threat. He is probably the most accomplished ball handler and scorer in this group. He gets into his shot quick and he is creative and effective when he gets all the way to the basket. He holds the school record for threes in a game already, so he can shoot it with the best of them. These are four guards who have turned the triple threat into a weapon.
