Starting today, we will be revealing the top matchups of the week every Monday during the season as I reveal what matchups are coming up for the week ahead. Let’s get started…
#3: DME Academy at Columbus- Tuesday, 11/29 at 6:00 p.m.: Not a bad game to kickoff the week as two national powerhouses square off on the hardwood as DME Academy, who are led by 6-3 junior point guard Baraka Okojie who put up 31 points and 13 rebounds in a win against The Rock School. Another name to watch will be 6-8 senior forward Petras Padegimas, who has signed with Central Florida. The Explorers are the reigning Class 7A champions and are led by Cameron and Cayden Boozer Cayden Boozer 6'5" | PG Columbus | 2025 State #28 Nation FL who are among the top sophomores in the nation. The Explorers went 1-1 at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest held in Dallas this past weekend.
#2: IMG Academy at Montverde Academy- Thursday, 12/1 at 5:00 p.m.: The 2nd Annual National Interscholastic Basketball Conference (NIBC) tips off with what appears to be a Monstrumental game in the Sunshine State. Key names to watch in this one will be senior guard Jacoi Hutchinson Jacoi Hutchinson 6'3" | CG IMG | 2023 State #101 Nation FL (George Washington commit), Jayden Hastings Jayden Hastings 6'9" | PF Orlando Christian Prep | 2023 State #120 Nation FL (Boston College commit) and Jamie Kaiser Jamie Kaiser 6'6" | SF IMG Academy | 2023 State #67 Nation FL (Maryland commit) for the Ascenders. Meanwhile for the Eagles, they will be led by the sophomore backcourt duo of Cooper Flagg Cooper Flagg 6'9" | PF Montverde Academy | 2024 State #1 Nation FL and Bryce Heard Bryce Heard 6'6" | SG Homewood Flossmoor | 2025 State #86 Nation IL .
#1: Hamilton Heights (TN) vs Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Lauderdale)- Friday, 12/2 at 7:00 p.m.: The top game of the week will take us to the Marshall County Hoopfest where the reigning Class 4A Florida champion Calvary Christian Academy Eagles, who decided to play a national schedule this upcoming season take on the Hawks of Hamilton Heights, out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Hawks are led by 6’5 senior small forward Jordan Dumont who is committed to Villanova and 6’0 senior point guard Camden Andrews Camden Andrews 6'1" | PG Hamilton Heights | 2023 State TN who has committed to D2 Nova Southeastern. The Eagles are led by 6’5 senior guard Carl Cherenfant Carl Cherenfant 6'4" | CG Ft. Lauderdale Calvary Christian | 2023 State #68 Nation FL who has committed to Memphis, as well as 6’2 guard Jaylen Curry Jaylen Curry 6'1" | PG Calvary Christian | 2023 State #109 Nation FL who transferred from Chambers High School in Charlotte. Another name to keep an eye on will be 6’7 sophomore guard Shon Abaev Shon Abaev 6'7" | CG Calvary Christian | 2025 State #24 Nation FL who can shoot the three ball with the best of them.
