Al Brooks Jr. (Hansberry) So. 6’6
Brooks is a do it all guard and slashing forward. He has the handle and playmaking ability to play some point guard but is really effective in the open court. Al rebounds the ball well and had multiple glass cleaning blocks. As a sophomore Brooks upside is through the roof because he can play multiple positions very effectively on the court. Al was an automatic double double machine in the 3 games we watched.
Calvin Worsham (Christ The King) Jr 6’7
Worsham is another player who has a ton of upside and should be on coaches radar. Calvin is physical forward that does a good job of getting good positioning in the post and can score around the rim using either hand. He has great touch from 15 feet and in. Worsham does a great job at using his wide frame to keep guys behind him when going for rebounds. He pulled in double figure in both points and rebounds in each game this week. Calvin is a force that most colleges should get on their radar.
Larry Carthans (Julian) Sr. 6’7
Larry had a really good stretch of games this week. Very long and lanky forward was really strong on the boards and in the open court. Carthans looked good getting to the rim off slashing plays. He’s effective when he’s attacking the rim and using his length to score over defenders off straight drives. His biggest game was a 26 points and 15 rebounds game over Hansberry. Small colleges should be on this prospect.
Davon Simpson (Richards) Jr. 6’0
Simpson is a stronger guard who does a great job at getting to the rim off the dribble. He was able to score in the paint using either hand. Davon has a strong upper body that he uses to bounce off bigger defenders and finish through contact. He played so hard that he scores double digits in each game this week.
Vincent Davis Vincent Davis 6'5" | SF Homewood Flossmoor | 2023 State IL (Homewood Flossmoor) Sr. 6’6
Very skilled wing player that made several key plays when H-F needed them the most. Vincent scored well around the basket and even made a few jump shots in his team win over Rich Township on Monday. Davis scored 15 in the process while pulling in a handful of rebounds. Small schools would benefit from recruiting Vincent who can be very helpful at the next level.
Xavier Sulaiman Xavier Sulaiman 6'3" | SG Oak Lawn | 2023 State IL (Oak Lawn) Sr. 6’3
The explosive senior started his season off with a bang. Knocking off a top 10 team in the area and leading his squad to a Thanksgiving Championship and the MVP of the tournament. Sulaiman is a player we’ve covered since the end of his sophomore year. He has made a significant jump in his game from just being an athlete to becoming a significant scoring guard. Xavier hit shots from all three levels as well as making some exciting plays in transition. He scored 33 points in close battle against Mt. Carmel. D2s and D1 coaches should be involved.
